What is Way to Grow?

Way to Grow helps parents prepare their young children for success in school by supporting and educating parents in their role as their child’s first - and most important – teacher.  Way to Grow is a school readiness program that uses home visitors to promote learning of both parents and children.

As one parent put it, “I learned ways to teach my child while we played.  I wish more parents could have this kind of help!”

What Is School Readiness?

For children to thrive in the classroom, they need to be healthy and well-nourished in order to have energy for learning.  They must be able to concentrate and follow directions.  Children should have a large vocabulary with a beginning knowledge of letters and numbers.  Finally, they need their parents’ support, guidance and commitment to education.
